Led by Korean designer Lee Hye-mi, this was the second collection of Hye-mi’s alphabetical “Letter Project” within the brand. Last season, then, EENK presented “A is for Aesthetics”, a vibrant tribute to vintage and traditional elements. This season, the brand logically presented its B collection, titled “B is for Binding”, thinking through the book-making process as well as bojagi, a folk Korean method for wrapping fabrics and cloth.
The looks, perhaps unsurprisingly therefore, featured neat folds and pleats that gave the silhouettes an origami-like dimension, rich stories like a sheet of paper illuminated by words and illustrations. Yet any suggestion of simplicity would be a misnomer: these looks were also structural, almost statuesque, in their forms, or else rippled in mesmerising shapes and shadows with an aerial, almost intangible lightness.
