MMAM – or Maison Modern Art Museum, founded by designer Park Hyun – brought movement, opening with an evocative ballet performance from choreography Lee Ruda.
Named such for its desire to “show that clothing is part of modern art,” MMAM brought to Paris a collection fit for the mission. Entitled “Contrasting Layers”, the looks were true to the name, consisting of unexpected statuses and fusions: large oversize blazers with frayed woollen arms, flowing dresses overlayed with jean-denim accents.
It was a playful, experimental, and original showing from a brand that rightfully champions itself as able to think outside the box, push wearable fashion into that realm of art.
